Thank you for taking the time to visit The Fat Pig website. Please read on and learn a little about the ethos of our company and hopefully you will feel encouraged to come and visit us.

The Fat Pig ltd is all about locally sourced, meat, fish, game, booze, and produce .We try to keep the food miles low, which to be honest , with a little organization in beautiful green Devon is a joy. Our  rivers, rolling moors and coastline provide a great bounty. We also run an experimental brewery in our cellars to produce beers for ourselves and our sister pub 'The Rusty Bike' so you'll always find great beer on tap. Any whisky lover will be pleased to find a selection averaging 100 single malts plus Irish Whiskey, Blends, Bourbons and new world. 

All of our meat comes direct from the farm, we don't have a middleman . Rare breed pork comes from Haldon hill, rare breed Beef from Mortonhampstead , and lambs from Langford. We shoot most of our own game, venison from Honiton and Dartmoor and rabbits from all,around Exeter. We are advocates of the nose to tail philosophy and use everything . We make our own sausages , black puddings , dry cured hams, pates ,pies , puddings and confits . Our belly pork is crisp like a buscuit and melt in your mouth tender.

the pub is open from 5pm monday through thursday, a little earlier on friday at 4pm and saturday all day from 12noon, same on sunday but we finish at 5pm. if its food you fancy our kitchen opens at 6pm monday - friday and closes at 10pm. sturday we serve the fat pig brunch and lite lunches from 12noon - 3pm and then from 6pm for the main menu. sundays are all about the classic roast dinner 12noon - 4pm.

AND OF COURSE THE HOMEBREW GETS A BIT HEATED UP AROUND THIS TIME TOO SO MUCH BEER FLOWING AND FEET STOMPING TO A BIT MORE LIVE MUSIC.

EXETERS FIRST BREWPUB OPENED ITS BREWERY IN SEPTEMBER 2013.

so in a moment of madness in the summer of 2013 we got in a van, drove to yorkshire and bought a small but perfectly formed brewery. after a not small amount of cursing, head scratching and tears our fat pig brewery is cranking out some great beers.

we refer to ourself as an experimental brewery to provide beers for us and our sister pub The Rusty Bike. we are constantly playing with combinations of malts, hops and temperatures to improve our range of beers and push the boundaries.
